What is the consumption of graphite electrode in the process of steel making?

In the process of steel making, there will be some consumption of graphite electrode, which can be mainly divided into normal consumption and very consumption. In the normal consumption, there are three kinds of arc consumption, chemical consumption and oxidation consumption. Although they cause consumption of graphite electrode, there are differences in the way.

1, very consumption is the machine wear level when the use of fracture.

2, chemical consumption refers to the reaction of some impurities iron, calcium and fierce oxide of the electrode and steel or the reaction of iron in the molten steel, which is directly related to the quality of the steel and the diameter of the graphite electrode.

3, oxidation consumption refers to the consumption of oxygen reaction in the process of steelmaking, and the atmosphere in the furnace, gas temperature, gas flow rate, found in the normal consumption of 50%-60%, is the largest consumption.

4, arc light consumption is also known as evaporation consumption, because the high temperature between the electrode and the charge will be as high as 3000℃, there will be continued consumption of graphite electrode, accounting for about 40% of the normal consumption.
