In 2022, the Year of tiger in China, the price of graphite electrode in China will be mainly stable temporarily. The mainstream price of UHP450mm with 30% needle coke content on the market will be 3380-3459USD/ ton, and the mainstream price of UHP600mm will be 3931-4088USD/ ton. The price of UHP700mm is 4560-4716USD/ ton.

Supply and demand: during the Chinese Spring Festival holiday, most of the graphite electrode factories are in normal production and the early orders are executed. Some manufacturers are affected by holidays, epidemic conditions and other factors, limiting production by 20%-30%; Some small manufacturers are still out of production.
Since most of China’s independent electric furnace mills will not gradually resume production until After Feb. 17, Northern part of the long process steel mills affected by the Winter Olympics, will limit production. Market demand is expected to pick up in March, when graphite electrode prices are expected to expand.
